Based on the statement above and my steady visitors from my 2 month absence, I have decided to just move forward with my blog. :) thank YOU for reading ;)

Hari Raya Aidilfitri
Eid al-Fitr

Muslims celebrates Hari Raya Aidilfitri after fasting throughout the whole month of holy Ramadhan. It is a celebration day for all Muslims :) So, let me share how it's done in Malaysia. Actually, it was quite difficult to write this in english.

Malam Raya Aidilfitri
Eve of Eid al-Fitr

After having our last break fast after a month of fasting, there's always this mix feeling of sadness saying goodbye to Ramadhan and happiness that you it's Syawal. After Isyaq, the mosque and television will broadcast takbir signalling the start of Syawal :) My kampung, Sungai Penchala usually ada malam takbir dari rumah ke rumah.

Solat Sunat Aidilfitri
Eid al-Fitr Salat

Before heading off to the Mosque, it is sunat (non-obligatory but highly encouraged) that we take a bath with intention (niat) for Allah SWT. Usually it's done after Subuh till solat sunat aidilfitri around 8.30 am. After having their bath, we usually wear our best clothes usually newly tailored clothes for hari raya :) Then, wear the telekungs and head off to the nearest mosque.

After our solat sunat, we'll have a short breakfast before we visit the grave.

The most popular juadah raya are: ketupat, nasi impit, rendang, kuah kacang, and lontong.

 Ketupat, rendang ayam and lontong.

This is the time of the year where old wrongs are forgiven. The younger ones ask forgiveness from the older and vice versa.
